Welcome to Social Studies. In any Social Studies course - World History, World Geography, Contemporary World Conflicts, or Psychology - we will focus upon both the current state of the world and its people as well as upon what caused that current state. The answers we find will be based upon many different factors, ranging from psychological to cultural to historical. Sometimes we may not find any answers at all, just more questions as to why the world is the way it is. In any case, after taking the courses you should have a better understanding of both the world and its people and of your place in that world.
Mission Statement
My mission is to empower students to improve themselves each day socially, personally, academically, and physically. Towards this end, students will make progress towards their full potential as a person. I will instill in my students a respect for diversity, a sense of responsibility, and an enthusiasm for learning. I want each student to set and meet higher expectations in terms of behavior, academics, and social interactions. I want students to leave my classroom with a feeling of competency as well as knowing that they have the power to continue improving themselves. |
